Default ...I just love these...Can you spot the obvious

Just fell upon the above thread. It nicely states what we all feel about CEF, but does not address the original problem or indeed provide a solution! What do YOU think his problem might be...apart from being an idiot

Trust me, it is easily to become an approved idiot.

To the op, I don't know much about European dimmers but is he using the appropriate dimmer-- electronic vs magnetic. I assume these are low voltage lights.

It's not about being European, it's about the laws of physics. 250 W of light on a 60 VA transformer...

In the UK there are 3 grades of electrician.

1. Electrician. minimum time served with qualifications.
2. Approved Electrician. same as above but with more of each
3. Technician. same as above both but with more of each

A 'starter' version is also available at no extra cost and goes by the name of a 'Domestic Installer'.

In between there are also to be found a variety of self appointed grades ranging from 'con man' to 'quite good actually' since the trade is not truly monitored.

It beats me how a customer makes his choices.

Love a good anti CEF rant.
Did he say he has five lamps on one tranny or has one of his trannys gone ?

I realize that thus my question about the tranies and the load. Most electronic low voltage dimmers are 300 watts in this country but apparently they have a 400 watt dimmer.

Love the CEF rant, have to say it depends which side of the fence you sit, for us buy on customers account and only interested in prompt delivery = great. If we bought on our account I'd question the prices more.

That said (wait for the daggers) we have had some good leads from CEF like £68000 pounds worth of work. They had £70000 in bits to customer.
