Default Have some Questions about union in WA state

I have been in the trade for 3 years now and am at a crossraods. I pretty much am tring to move away from resi work and have heard a great way to do that is to join the union. I have a few questions. How long before the union starts taking new guys? Will i have to take a hefty paycut if I join? When I first applied I wasn't able to join because hadn't finished highschool ( I got my GED ) and didn't have a credit of algebra to my name. I have an 02 residential card and have been enrolled in an electrical training program and always get As in my class. Will that help or do I need to take seperate math classes to get in? I am pretty good when it comes to tests, I got a 95 on the NEC and a 94 on the RCW/WAC on my 02 exam.
I live in snohomish county so I would want to join local 191. If any one has some good advice I would appreciate it. PMs are welcome.

I would say give the hall a call. I have worked out of that local and just about all locals have a different process of taking in new members. If I understand your post you already have a state cert for residental if that is so you might be able to go in as a journeyman residental wireman, work and go to upgrade classes paid for by this said local until you achieve whatever staus you crave. I undrestand that local has allot of work coming up soon in your area.Good luck to you in which ever decision you make in life.
