Default Im going to be moving to western pa

I currently live in nc a stupid right to work state where the pay to me isnt good at all. Im from western pa and have a steel worker for a father who is a union shop keep or at least was at one point. Im absolutely pro union and would like to join. In talking with some people up there i have heard that the local 712 is trying to get rid of card carrying journeymen(which i am) in favor of mechenics at a much cheaper rate. My question is has anybody heard about this amd is the union still strong in western pa.

IBEW lu 712 is hopeful they will break ground for a multi-million dollar cracker plant for processing shale gas.The fitters in that Beaver area aren't working overtime much.

I like me some Ritz crackers, and oatmeal raisin cookies. Both of which have nothing to do with shale gas. Carry on...
