Nice camera, I also use Nikon, I have several lenses BUT use my 12-24MM almost exclusively on the job allows me to get a lot of surrounding area when in tight quarters.

http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Ni.../4G-IF-ED.html

Between these two lenses I find I need little else.

Of course cameras like tools one never has enough and then there is always the latest greatest.

This one came with an 18-55 and a 55-200. I'm looking at what's available for wide-angles wider than the 18 but not a 180°+ fisheye.

I have been into photography since I was a teen (1960's) and back then a 18 was WIDE ANGLE....Would have cost a fortune. The new 18-55 is a good all around lens.

I have always thought they should just give you the camera, you'll finance the companies profits buying accessories

Since 'I' is 'they', all profit ends up being mine anyway.

If I worked for someone else, I doubt they'd give me the camera, at least not a D60! Maybe a disposable film job, but anything digital is assigned to an employee.

Most 'point-n-shoot' digital cameras don't have an eyepiece. You view, compose & frame the image in the video screen.

DSLR is a Digital Single-Lens Reflex. Digital is obvious... the film has been replaced with the imaging sensor. Single-Lens means you view the image in the eyepiece through a mirror and prism. When you take the picture, the mirror raises out of the way, the shutter opens and exposes light to the sensor. That's the Reflex part.

By they, I meant Nikon/Canon/Pentax.....

DSLR - Digital Single Lens Reflex...You look through the view finder and lens in lieu of above the lens (film) or at a monitor with a "standard" digital camera*. Additionally you can change the lenses.

*Nikon's new D3 allows you to use SLR or monitor to preview prior to shooting, about $4K.

4 digits on the check $99.99, where did you get a D60 for that price?

Four digit dollars. You included cents.

Only in my dreams could I get one for a c-note. I got the 18-55 / 55-200 VR zoom lens package as well. Throw in a couple SD cards, some filters, a case, etc. etc.

And, of course, I'm a professional customer. I went to a local camera store where I get real service, not some on-line off-shore drop-shipping importer in order to save 50 clams.

How can any one serious about taking a picture use a camera without a viewfinder (eyepiece)?

Guess the answer is because they only wanted to spend $99.99

I decided to get a little more serious about my photography. That's why I upgraded.
