Default Who to sell used surplus equipment to??

I'm working with a company demolishing a very large manufacturing plant on the South Eastern Seaboard. I'm trying to locate buyers for existing electrical equipment. Lots of large switch gears, electric motors from 1 hp to 100+hp, transformers, disconnects from 30A to 400A and all kind of speed control systems. Does any one know of any regional companies paying decent prices? I've contacted the usual big ones like Radwell.

I don't think there's much interest anymore. One of the plants, where I worked, scrapped 90% of all the electrical equipment, when they demo'ed the building. That included large switchgear, transformers and motors. Three motor control centers that were just installed the previous year. Truly a shame.

I have sold big breakers to Main Breaker in the past with good luck. The last I sold was to Radwell, a new unused Sq D 300 amp bolt in, they quoted me what I thought was a real lowball number ($78), when they recieved it thay cut the quoted price by $10 because it wasn't in a box. I will never use or recommend Radwell again.

Compared to the total volume of each size sold, 300 is large. Each facillity only needs so many thousand-odd sizes of breaker, but far more smaller.

Well for a 300A breaker he was lucky to get anything more than scrap, if he forgot the zero he was robbed.

I have three 1200 amp paf's and two 4000 amp sef's (from demo) and I pretty much consider them scrap. They cost too much to return to spec, I hear.

Those are not scrap, but a lot of work.

They worth anything? They were working tear outs, but that doesn't mean a damn thing on the secondary market, I understand.

Nope didn't forget a 0. I figured $78 was better than trashing it. Was a little annoyed with $68 and their reasoning.

Depends on the market you are refering to, for some they don't care, and will ship it working or not because they can't test it past a open and close test. For me, it also does not matter because it will get completly remanufactured down to every pin and bearing regardless of the condition it is in. Should be worth a couple hundred bucks at least.

I do sell a lot of stuff on Ebay already, but this is one of those situations where there is so much larger equipment and so much of it. I need to blow some out, but I don't want to give it away.
