400v 3-phase: can it be wired for 240v
I am trying to install 4 industrial popcorn machines. Each machine is fitted with a motor to rotate a drum over a flame.
I have a problem with the power supply for the motor.
The motor name-plate says it runs on 400v 3 phase power. I am not an expert with these motors, especially on internal specifics. Can this motor be wired for 240v?
It has 6 leads, marked U1, U2, V1, V2, W1, W2. And U1, V1, and W1 are connected to one phase each, while U2, V2, W2 are wired together. Is this a wye setup? Can it be changed to delta to run on 240v?
Here are the specifics from the name-plate:
HP: 1
RPM: 910
V: 400
kW: 0.75
Type Y 90S-6
A: 2.2
Hz: 50
I am working in Africa and it is hard to find replacement motors... I'd like to make these work if possible. Thanks.
