mob home estimate
Today I did an estimate, they are replacing a trailer. I first noticed the trailer has a 100 amp main panel, the disconnect breaker is 50 amp. The feeder was 6 awg AL. Second, the garage had been fed through the main panel in the home, to a J box in the garage, which was spliced into all the circuits. The water pump was external, had 12-2 NM which was hooked onto a repair plug (yellow one with metal casing) plugged into a outlet strip. I recommended a sub panel, dedicated circuit for the pump, GFCI protected outlets, new feeders from disconnect to trailer and garage. I'll take pictures on my next trip.

Would I be alright moving only the disconnect, I would have to run a new ground cable, some pvc, and a new post to mount it on.

I think you're on the right track as long as the power company does not require a disconnect on the pole with the meter.
If you leave the existing disconnect in place, you would need a 4 wire feed from the pole to an additional disconnecting means. Splice & insulate the neutral at this point, use the neutral bar in the new disconnect to attach the incoming & outgoing equipment grounds, install the bonding screw or bonding jumper, pound in a couple of rods & connect, have a cold one (or two).

I talked with my inspector, he said I can just install another disconnect, with quadplex inbetween the two.

Here is the pump. Its 1/2 HP. No means of disconnect, Its wired with 12-3 romex. The white and black are hot, and the red is the ground.

The little switch on the outlet strip is the disconnect.

Can you tell me what's wrong? =)
I felt so dumb when I found out.
And yes, the ground bar should have been on the left side, but I hadn't planned on putting the main on the right. I fixed it though. And the panel was smaller than I wanted, but it got the job done, and my supplier was closed on saterday ( doh! )

Idk what I was thinking, I had bent it for the correct lug lined it up and everything, then I taped it, and connected to the hot buss.

Yup, we have all done it (I hope anyway),I actually had a helper point it out to me. He actually thought I did it on purpose and asked why. Like I had some brilliant master plan.

Lol, the sad part was, I was all proud of myself because we got it all done in time, so I took this picture. I turned the breaker on and my helper yelled from the main at the pole "woah! the breaker tripped!". Easy fix though lol.

Why'd you use such a small panel?

I know I know, lol! My supplier was closed, and I asked him for the wrong panel the day before hand, It's a small garage, and there is an outdoor panel as well, so I figured worst case they can throw in a mini. It had just enough circuits to get done what needed to get done, hell before hand it was 10-3 romex ran from the house to a J box that fed all the branch circuits lol

I dont see a bolt down kit on that breaker that is used as a main in that panel.
Maybe I'm just not seeing it in the pic or is it not required there?
A couple other (might have been existing) things I noticed;
1. whats up with the uninsulated conductors extending from the pump receptacle ?
2. wasn't there also a bare wire in the 12/3 that could have been used for the ground ?
