Rewiring in the garage
Currently all the lighting, a freezer, a bar fridge, a tv and stereo are in my garage on a 20 amp circuit. Now, today I was helping some family out and they gave me an oldish refrigerator that was getting thrown out. Because its definitely going to draw more power than the mini-fridge I have before, and i obviously have already overloaded the circuit (oddly it has never tripped on me) I'm planning on doing a little bit of re-wiring.
The lights and some misc plugs for my shop vac and skill saw and other things would remain on the old breaker, and on the new breaker i would put the freezer, the fridge, the tv and the stereo. Would a 20 amp breaker with 12-2 wire be good enough for the job? I dont want to put a 30 amp breaker unless I have to, 10 guage wire is freakin expensive these days.
