Default service in front of gas meter

hey everyone, i just joined the site and already need some help. I trying to do a service upgrade in san antonio tx, but the service is directly in front of the gas meter. are there any members from S.A that might have done one like this before?

Go directly to the source and ask your power company and city building dept.

Here it is 36". Move the gas or move the electric.

I'd suggest you push for the "move the electric" option.

Let the plumbers find their own work.
Know what I mean Vern?

I agree with BryanMD, push the electric move. The extra cost for the customer should be the same. Put the money in your pocket and screw the plumber. Tell the customer it will get it done faster if you move the service since your there already.

Wisconsin is 3'. I don't think it's in the NEC, it's in the building code??? Not sure on that one, just know 3' is a fact.

Also,, check your local code to see what the requirement is for the lenght of the service conductors. WI is 8' at the piont of enterance to the panel max or you need to put a service disconnect on the outside of the building next to the meter. Then the panel becomes a sub (or main lug).

In VA,,,they would make me stay ten feet away!. So you better check with the AHJ
