Hello all, newb from Fl. REAL NEW lol - Electrician Talk - Professional Electrical Contractors Forum

Hello everyone, im so new i have not even started in any programs yet. Im going to JACKSONVILLE ELECTRICAL JATC to turn in my lic/birth cert/ and social.
I was looking for info on pretty much how the program starts, do you do classes for a yr then start work? How is the electrical field? is it hard to find work? Is the pay well? Whats the best route to go as an electrician?
Im kind of not sure what i want to do with my life, im a sophomore in college now but i know im not going to end up doing anything in college i enjoy, i love working with my hands, any advice is much appreciated, thanks!

You have to decide what you really want to do with your life,Being a professional electrician is a great way to make a living.

well i've always been a mechanic and liked the electrical aspect of it. I've been in college just to make my parents happy but now i've decided to just do something that makes me happy, and i think this might be it, still doing a bit of research

Well if you can move to north Dakota they are really busy up there and you will be a journeyman in a few short years.....Good luck.
