Default New to the site

Hi everone,

I m new to the site I run a small family electrical contracting business in Reading, England. It just my son and I who is in his 3rd year of an electrical apprentership. Our company name is Phase and Neutral Electrical Services and my reason for joining the site is because Iam interested to know if you boys have the same issues as we have over here. At the moment the work in the UK is drying up big style. We are highly regulated but the trade is not policed that well so we have unregistered people doing the work and under cutting the good guys. The situation is not getting any better. Anyway less of the doom and gloom- look forward to learning how things are done in the states. It now 10:25pm over here I suppose a lot of you guys are out at work.

Cheers
Fred

I addition to the hacks we have to put up with the Kitchen Fitters and builders still doing there own electrics. We have loads of illegal Eastern Europeans doing electrics and they don't have clue about our regs!!!The main problem is that when you grass them up to Building Control nothing happens despite our domestic electrical work becoming part of the building regs 3 years ago! which means it is statutory - a legal requirement.

Probably not too many, since this is Sunday. Sunday is traditionally a day to take off work, unless there's an emergency.
