One more Apprentice
So, I have been trolling this site for a few months now and it seems like the best one between the most prominent 3 electrician forums that I have found (electriciantalk, contractortalk, and mikeholt). I am very glad to become a part of this community and I know it will really help me get a better grasp of electricity and the specialties that electricians apply themselves to.
I am from the High Desert region of California and have just recently been accepted into Local 477's apprenticeship program, so I am very glad right now . I am currently number 42 of 200 so I hope to be put to work in the near future.
Thanks for having me here and I hope to learn a little more from everybody here.

Not to hijack your post but I am from Northern Kentucky and received my letter to take drug screen and physical for local 212 Cincinnati next week. I called to check my placement on the list and I am 8th. The letter said we will be starting work July and August. I can't wait.

Welcome to the forum. You could have made your own post in intros or Union topics, just a thought.

Thanks for all the great responses. Their seems to be a little bickering on every messageboard regardless of subject, but I haven't found a board with as much camaraderie and encouragement as this one.
Although I do wish I was at work right now good things are worth waiting for and it gives me some more time to get some decent boots and tools. Besides last year my local took in 300 apprentices, so I know that with several big jobs coming up in the next two months it won't take me long to be out there fetching the skyhooks and memorizing coffee orders
I also forgot to mention earlier that I'm fairly young (22) and at this moment my lvely wife is in the hospital preparing for an induced labor to bring our first daughter home a week earlier than expected. So this easily ranks as the best month I have ever had. I will make sure to inform you guys when my girls come home.

Best of luck with the baby. FYI, she doesn't mean any of the things she says while in labor, those drugs are rough on the little lady.

I have had five children and been there for the blessed events. My wife that had pitosin to induce labor became a demon in the labor room. I was waiting to see her head spin around in circles. God knows she did more things like the exorcist girl than made me comfortable watching. Words came out of her mouth I didn't know she knew existed. I could have made a mint selling a video to one of those ghost/demon shows.
