I am an unemployed electrician. In field for 20+ years. Is a journeyman's lic. a state lic. or just a class 1?
I am looking for work. I live in the Atlanta .Ga. area.

Welcome Rick. Ga has two classes of state licsense. Class I is 200 amps, single phase, and class II whitch is unrestricted.
A journeyman's card is only used in the union in this state.

Good luck.
What part of Atlanta? If I hear something, I can let you know.

Was in the field for 15 years. Electrical work is dead around here.

Find another trade. I did.

Persevere, and hit every company, look at industrial, or a service electrician with service end for a franchise or bank. Consider relocating. It may be tough but keep looking, it is easy to get down and lose hope.

Default unemployed

Hi all, look 1st post.

Me too, 28 yrs in the field. last 10 yrs operated 1 man shop. Was doing ind/comm/resi. and was doing well for 8 1/2 years, then it started slowing down.

This year has been the worst as far as work coming in. finally had to close my doors last week, couldn't sustain the business out of my personal income any longer, trying to hold out until more work came.

Maryland master license with 5 county licenses.
I'm looking to work for someone else, but it has to be part time, think that will be a tough find. I thank God I never quit my night job. The night job is industrial electrician.

I'm in the Baltimore metro area, Millersville, 10 miles south of Baltimore. Would be willing to check out any leads if someone has any.

By the way this is a great place.

Been there, done that. Too many electricians in my area looking for work. When back driving a semi. Keeping my electrical licenses since I may go back to the trade.
