Default Security Bollards

Anyone here have experience with installing security bollards (electrically powered steel security barriers for entrances/ports/driveways ?

Customer would consider those electrically operated claws (warning severe tire damage spikes)

Got a customer with a small strip-mall plaza wanting to have these installed at the two entry points to the parking lot to limit vehicular traffic and illegal parking/tresspass after closing. currently a 3' cinder block planter box wall around the small parking lot... they don't want a locked sliding fence.

Anyone recommend a good manufacturer?

It wouldn't hurt to try ACS (automatic control systems). I've installed a lot of there stuff before. Mostly turnstiles and gates. I'm sure they might have something for you. They are located in long island new york. A quick google search will give you the contact info. They are pricey though so keep that in mind. I used to install their equipment in corporate environments so the price really wasn't an issue.

I've done my fair share of security/access control installations so any questions just shoot me a message.

Yup looking at the price. I decided to tell my customer to draw out what he wants and take it to a local iron or steel shop to make him a manual one.

One of the best manufacturers in the industry is Cal Pipe Bollards http://www.calpipebollards.com/. I know these guys and they make a quality product. They supply many DOD and government installations as well as high security corporate installations.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I called calpipe and they gave me a quote. It's now up to the customer to decide how they want to proceed if they have the budget for a powered bollard versus manual bollard.

Off topic but related to bollards... anyone know some good quality HID replacement light fixtures for walkways encased in concrete planter boxes. Looking to replace the rectangular ones currently in the planter boxes.
