Correct. I have done many hot tubs with #6 T90 and #10 bond. Passed every time. Mind you if the run was long I would use #8 to be sure of a low impedance path.

[quote=farlsincharge;699558]Does everyone do it?
We always have, but after studying the code some more I'm questioning whether it is really required.[/quote } The bonding you are talking about goes from where to where?

Default Bond those metal parts!

Rule 68-400 to Rule 68-408 in the CEC covers spas and hot tubs. And yes my interpretation is that if there are any metal parts to this hotub it needs the number 6 bond. Also note Rule 68-406 LEAKAGE CURRENT COLLECTORS. This is a requirement in many hot tubs exception being subrule (4). These leakage current collectors also require a bond. Subrule (5)

ive always done it and have been required to... even if the motor is double insulated...with no lug and all plastic housing... they want it there in case they change the motor later on.

Default My extra few cents.

Subject to interpretation... Rule 68-402 subrule (1) sends us to Rule 68-058 where we might be able to use a bonding conductor sized from Table 16 which would be smaller than a number 6. THis is from Rule 68-058 subrule (7)
But that is if we dont interpret our tub as a permanent install. Same Rule 68-058 subrule (4)
Our hot tub is classified as a pool to some degree as stated in rule 68-402 subrule (1) that this rule (68-058) must be applied if metal parts are present.
