Default Is it against code?

There is a condo with the entrance on the main floor and the main living area on the second floor. When you enter the condo there is a 4x4 landing and then 2 flights of stairs.
is it against code to put a plug on that landing ?

Welcome-- I can't imagine there is a code that would prohibit such a thing but I do not know the CEC.

Why would that be against code? I've been in 3-floor townhouses and condos and that's where they plug in the vaccuum since no central vac.

Definetly not against code, and inspectors love it when you put a receptacle there. It shows them that you are thinking about future use (vacuuming is a great example). I always put a receptacle at a landing. Also depending on the lenght of the wall, you may have to do it anyways as required by code

Am I the only one seeing the irony here, or are the rest of you just being polite?

I think that we are so used to people refering to receptacles as "plugs" , which btw aren't the same thing, that we are even using it when we are talking haha!
