Does the CEC require breaker ties for MWBC's ?

Honestly I can't even imagine having to tie MWBCs.

On a typical commercial job here, everything leaves the panel in pipe as a MWBC and you branch off throughout the building. All on single poles.

It seems absolutely ridiculous to me to have 3 pole handle ties on everything

Unless the load requires it of course. Three phase motor, 208 or 600, etc. I rarely see all single poles, unless it's completely lighting or plugs.
