Default ECAO Membership

Been looking at membership in the Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario http://www.ecao.org/.

From my research it seems primarily focused on Union Shops, is that a correct assumption?

I believe there is value in being associated with professional organizations; having said that, we are a small shop and non-union, so not 100% sure if it is a good fit.

Anyone on here a member that would be willing to discuss the good, bad and ugly? I will undoubtedly be contacting them, but was looking for some perspective from the field.

Cheers

John

I was a member of the ECAO. Then one year they refused to renew my membership. I am a one man operation, non union. Seems that the ECAO is only concerned about union activities. They say that they represent all electricians--bull????. Anyways, I joined the Ontario Electrical League.

Thanks for that. I have also looked into the OEL, only response was...sorry we don't have a Niagara chapter.

I guess there is not enough interest in getting one started...

Cheers
