Default Outdoor Hot Tub

From my understanding you need a disconnecting means at least 5 foot away but within sight 680.12. Which means my disconnecting means could be as far as 50' away"within sight" correct? But how far is the receptacle need to be 6' to 20' away 680.22 (A)(3) or not less then 6' and not exceeding 10' 680.43 (A) ? Im thinking the 6' to 20' because the other may be implying indoor installation only.

Always been my understanding and OSHA/Local Inspector interpretation, line of sight no matter what the conditions or 5' away.

If you read 680.40 it tells you that hot tubs shall comply with the provisions of Parts I and II of article 680. So since you have an outside hot tub the required receptacle shall be located not more than 20' and not less than 6' from the edge of the tub. If it were an indoor tub than the receptacle would between the 6' and 10' area.
