Default Power Strip feeding Power Strip

I have an electrician coworker that is making his own 120VAC 4 plex outlets with a six foot SO coord extensions and plug.
He has done so with 208VAC too.
He has mounted these power strips to equipment to feed each other in a daisy chain fashion for supplying equipment power.
He said that because the installations are temporary that he can do this.

I can not find in the NEC that specifically says you cannot feed a power strip by plugging in another power strip.
It does not seem legal.

Don't know if the NEC says anything on it, but I believe OSHA would have a field day with this.

Two documents you might want to refer to for quick reference:
http://www.compliance.gov/forms-pubs...nsioncords.pdf
http://www.compliance.gov/forms-pubs...aisychains.pdf

If these were factory made power strips/boxes, you'd be violating the UL listing on them, which would be a NEC issue. 110.3(B).

Default Thanks BigJohn

Yes this was most helpful.

I can now relay some facts you given me on why you should not daisy chain.
