Default shut off box trouble

I am hooking up a 3 pump tank water system that is a 1000 gal. tank that is enclosed with covers. One of the owners was asking to place the shut off main disconnect by the tank. Is it NY code that shut off boxes have to be at least 3 feet away from water pipes or the closed tank?? i cannot seem to find the answer. can anyone help???

Forgive me, but your terminology ("shut off box") causes me to ask. Are you really an electrician?

Because they haven’t figured out how to stack trailers.
