Default Solar and Electric

I have a main panel 100 feet from a garage and it feeds a sub panel at the garage. It has a 2" conduit for the feed to the sub panel. The conduit has 3 #2 wires with a ground. The H/O is putting a solar system on his roof and the breaker it feeds is to be in the main panel according to the solar company. Now, two questions; can we use the 2" conduit to pull wire back to the main panel to accomplish this or can we put the breaker in the sub panel which, in turn, still feeds the electrical system through the sub panel. The inverter is a 6kva.

The company installing the PV array should take care of the whole install.

Yes you can feed the sub. Be mindful of Section 705.12(D)(2) “Bus or Conductor Ampere Rating” four ways to calculate it.
