Default Electrical insulation tester recommendations?

Im looking at purchasing an electrical insulation tester. Dont really need more than 1KV for most applications now. Pricing on some units range from thousands for Fluke, or Megger.....to a couple hundred dollars for the not so big names. Any feedback on something you used, big dollars....or not,, and how well it has served you. Thanks in advance.

Keep an eye out on E Bay. You could get a really good, decently priced megger there.
