Default Makita free tool promotion

Picked up a lxt702 kit 4 weeks ago. Today i got the free drill i dent in the rebate for and the chuck and torque ring are all scratched. I think they are giving the refurbished tools away as the promotion. I am going to call them tomorrow. I didn't buy a $700 kit to get a refurbished free drill.

I got a free recipro saw and it appears brand new to me. Didn't come with a case which was fine I just modified a different saw case I had.

I mean the drill is going to get used anyway but i just thought it should be scratched from the factory. I dunno you guys tell me if this can happen during shipping. Other than those two things it looks fine. It may be new but those marks to me mean that it was refurbished.

Couldn't tell you.

I have a few things that are refurbs, a couple DeWalt (with an R stamped into the plastic) tools, an MP3 player and a camera, I just checked them all and every last one is somehow permanently marked as a refurb. I'm thinking it might have to do with consumer protection laws up here, or maybe its just a voluntary thing *shrugs*
