What is the Industrial Electrical Forum about
The IEF is a place for those of us that work in the Petro-Chemical, Power Generation and on site Power Distribution, Mining, Pipeline, Offshore, and all other forms of heavy and manufacturing and transportation industry to discuss our technical issues.
Most of the industries mentioned above have some form of in-house engineering departments that develop engineering standards that do not necessarily strictly follow the NEC or NESC . If you work in or around these industries this site is for you.
In my perfect world I would like to see the following things discussed in the IEF but by no means do I want to limit the discussions to this list
Industrial Bonding and Grounding
High Resistance Grounded Systems
Low Resistance Grounded Systems
Synchronous Motors and Controls
Exotic Old Motor Control Schemes
Network Protection and Control
Insulated Medium and High Voltage Distribution Systems both Under Ground and Overhead
Safe Work Procedures
Doble Power Factor Testing
Basic Process Instrumentation
Pan-A-Larm /Scam Systems
Industrial Fire Alarm Systems
Relay Logic Problems
Trouble Shooting Ideas
Breaker and Switchgear
And the list goes on and on.
By having that all in one forum I think answers to problems might come quicker and we might attract some new industrial members.
Now that we have it let's make it go.
Let me thank Cricket and all of the members that voted in the poll earlier this summer
