Default Vehicle advertising (again)

I could look up my old thread on this subject but, screw it, I’ll start a new one.

Business...erm...paused...during the age of Covid19 (actually it became deader than my ex-wife’s libido) so I dressed up the vehicle. Actually, it was very simple, the most predominant lettering being “Electrician” and the phone number.

It worked. Within two weeks, it paid for itself in small jobs. I got two service calls alone with people waiting for me to return to my vehicle in the HD lot. Last week I was doing a service change and the guy next door came looking for me. Now I’m doing his service change. He saw my vehicle.

The novelty of an HHR used as a work vehicle is drawing them in.

You just need to use all Ryobi tools and drive a 1987 Ford Escort station wagon and the calls will come pouring in
Seriously, though I replaced my box truck a few months ago with a slightly larger one. One of these days I'll letter it. Not really high on the priority list, though. The referrals and existing customers keep me busy full-time. Not looking to be an employer any time soon.

You’re probably right. It’s a character vehicle.

Good job 99. Kicking butt and taking names.

If this keeps up you will have received more leads from your lettering within a month than I have in 5 years.

It just shows that what works for one person doesn't always work for the next. Some people say that leads from Craigslist or Home Depot won't work out, other people built their business on it. Some people say that customers who ask for price break-downs are never going to be good customers, other people say that they do $100K per year for a customer that originally asked for a break-down.

You never know, you just have to try it and see what works for you.

We've gotten work from our trucks being lettered. I have a panel change and car charger coming up from a woman who saw my truck at another job. It used to be we were the only ones around running unlettered trucks, and now we are one of only a few in the area.

I forbid you to letter your truck until you post a proof here for my approval.
