3rd Biggest Killer in the US ?

So my wife is in week 3 of recovery from back operation. 1 week in hospital, 1 week in rehab. She had some redness in the gash in her back, so the doc started her on some antibiotics a couple days before she came home. So I'm going over her meds and all, and I realize that the exit instructions told me to give her 1/2 of the correct dosage (the doctors scrip was as clear as day). Not very shocked or anything, but I was still a little surpised at this:

According to this article, the 3 biggest causes of death in the US are, in this order:

1 Heart Disease
2 Cancer
3 Medical mistakes.

Maybe it's overhyped, but I bet it's close

Ugh... I wish you and your wife the best! Having to learn what is and isn't correct or normal-ish is difficult. Especially if you're not a health care professional and trying to oversee what all the docs are prescribing. My mother used to get drugs from the same Doctor that would conflict with one another, human error. A friend of mine just had a procedure similar to a tummy tuck, she died of infection. Rant rant rant, I just hope it goes smooth for y'all!

You should see the damage psychiatrists and pediatrics. Two places where patients have no rights.

Oh god, that's another terrible conversation too.

I think big-pharma play's a key role.

Yup! And the money just bribes it's way to everything.
