It's because you didn't spend enough time submerged in the water.

Now, I would like to take the time to burn up a little of the forum bandwidth and talk about Eleuthera in the Bahama's. Great place for scuba diving, I mean great. First is current cut. That is a 5 foot wide canyon running between two islands that you just let current move you along while you are down 50 or 60 feet and you can touch both sides at one time while being pushed thru. Awesome coral. And then there is the blue pool- a bottomless cave dive. Bahamas have tons of reef sharks though so you got to be comfortable diving around sharks . I also got to do a cool day of exploring caves- spelunking I think they call it. The cave started at the roots of a tree and ended up at the ocean coming out in a cliff. A rope guides you thru the whole way. There is other spots also for diving but you just gotta go there yourself and find out about them. It is a great place to hang when you are a teenager who likes the ocean and the outdoors.
Maybe now, I might be more inclined to be at the hotel buffet line, but you cannot be super duper man forever.

Every time you share a piece of your history I enjoy reading it. I'm not like you, I don't feel comfortable or good doing those things. But damn I love reading about it.

Worst trip?
You guys were there on the beach, looking at a paint store and we were here working, sweating, holding down the fort.

Welcome back

One other totally cool place I used to go to sometimes when I lived in Florida was Dry Tortugas. The main island has this old civil war fort on it that you could run around as a kid for days on end. And the diving was superb, water was as clear as Cozumel. Totally illegal (federal) but word has it that I allegedly used to be able to catch spiny lobsters while the were out of the water sitting on rocks at one spot on the side of the fort's moat. My friends and me would bean them with rocks and stuff em in a bag. I think I was 13 the last time I was there, and I saw my buddies 16 year old sister nude briefly. A thrill that has lasted a lifetime.........

Welcome back
If I was ever on an island vacation and found myself in a paint store, I'd be looking to sue the travel agent when I got home.

When did I say I was IN a paint store? You guys trying to bust my balls again?
Roaches, food poisoning, mold......just to list a few, being IN a paint store would've been an improvement!

That sounds like my normal day but I normally do it 2-4x. I hate swamp butt but I got my tricks. Lets have a virtual handshake and a drink...coffee or liquor.

When I had my first serious GF after getting divorced we stayed at a bad hotel in Miami. I paid good money for a penthouse suite. The patio doors facing the beach had mold on the outside of the glass and the shower held like 2" of water. I hated the mold and the GF hated the standing water.

When I complained to the front desk the guy had the balls to tell me they had just come through a hurricane scare. The mold on the doors was more like moss it was so thick. The guy that came up to snake the shower drain left black schmutz inside the shower stall. I grabbed a maintenance guy from the hallway to come clean that crap up. Never forget that place, so much for a Glatt Kosher hotel.
