Do You Celebrate Valentine's Day?

Do you celebrate Valentine's Day?

Do you make any special plans?

wcord 01-31-2019 11:11 AM

Does a guy have a choice, if he wants to live to see the next day?

Death could be easier than all that alone time!!

Got married February 14, 1976.

Sometimes I pick up some flowers for her.

She should probably take me out for a steak sandwich this year. I'll have a Rye & Ginger too. Maybe a double.

Celebrate of course. Flowers a new Steven Singer Rose every year.

What's not to celebrate?

flyboy 01-31-2019 12:11 PM

I let all my girlfriends know in writing that I don't celebrate Valantines Day. I also let them know that the subject of marriage is never to come up unless is in the context of mocking someone else who is marrried.

Further, I make it clear that I only celebrate Christmas and birthday's with blood relatives and even then those plans are soft until confirmed by me.

If this is a deal breaker for them, I wish them well.

Most agree to my terms because they know how wonderful it is to be with me. So these are small concessions for them.

The big takeaway here is to get it in writing, signed, notarized and witnessed by three lawyers. :vs_cool:

I guess I got lucky as my wife sees no big deal with Valentines day.
She is the one last year that cautioned me about crowded restaurants on Valentines day. That we could go out to eat on another night.
One time we BOTH forgot about our anniversary! We got a good laugh when that happened. Actually I got lucky she forgot too!

I still do my best to get her something and threads like this help me to remember. So thanks Cricket!

!

I don't forget but I do get the # of years mixed up. Kinda missed the 40th number. I guess it is an important one. I never really try to figure out how many years. Probably quit worring about at 10.

You got to catch up. The best way, hands down, is to record every second of every conversation. GoPros and storage are cheap compared to lawyers and court proceedings and arguing your word against others.

I don't.

And this one of the dumbest threads ever on this forum, bar none.

It's in the OFF TOPIC forum. If ya don't like it, use your scroll button to go to something else instead of being rude.

Our whole town is going to be in turmoil due to the shooting at Stoneman Douglas last year.

Personally, we are getting older so I try to pick out some nice diamond pieces that I think the kids might like when we kick the bucket.

I also send my daughter a dozen long stem Rose's to be delivered at her office. It makes her coworkers despise her.

My wife is pretty easy going about holidays and we don't exchange gifts. Her birthday is close to Valentines day and I grab both cards when I'm at the store. She's going to the UK by herself this summer, so that's her gift.

I use the voice memo feature on my iPhone. I turn it on whenever I'm around her. If there's anything I can use against her I keep it. The nonsense gibberish I delete unless it gets to me the point I want to stab her multiple times. Then I keep it as evidence for a possible murder case I may find myself as a defendant in.

I don't use GoPros I use the Garmin Verb Ultra 30. It has a longer battery life.

MCasey 01-31-2019 06:55 PM

Of course I celebrate it with the little woman. She gets roses, breakfast in bed via room service and three good dinners. We go away to have a four day weekend alone,n o kids, no busiess calls. I often take her shopping at some outlets also.
