The one thing I wanted to do in Hawaii was sleep at night with the trade winds blowing through the room.

Not Even!

I think they were a Minah

Funny thing, looking at their expression was my expression in the morning.

Pileated Parrot?
That's close enough.
They loved to build giant nests that would loose entire sections in a wind storm.
Some of those chunks would fill up the back of a long bed pickup.

Minah birds don't chirp all night. I have two nesting in the baby palm tree out front. Nope we got some sort of green parrots from Brazil by the uku millions in certain areas like Niu Valley, Aiea, and Nuuanu. Now those guys are noisy suckers.

@macmikeman, Please don't take this wrong but most of us have been to HI. Everyone of us knows to not leave the tourist areas because the rest of the state is a crime ridden ****hole. It may be time to hop off your high horse.

We have been having 40mph to almost 60mph winds and rain for about 10 hours. Its supposed to be at the worst and at mid point about 8am.
We had a break in the rain and I got the dog to go out for a #1 and a #2.
I hope that an indication of how the day is going to be.
One problem for us is the 13.2 keeps swinging and hitting each other, causing small outages.

it's 11am and the storm has just moved beyond the keys, and there's 1.3 million outages. today is going to be interesting.

Default Florida members OK

The worst is over for us.
We did have quite a bit of steady 40mph to 50mph wind and some regular gusts into the 70s, a couple into the 90s.
Didn't lose any roof shingles.
No power as of this post a 5:36 am
I am running my fridge, a fan, a drop light, and small appliances as needed.
Going to suck being 90 degrees and no Air conditioning.
With great hope, we will have power today.
