We have 1 trashcan and 2 recycle bins.
Not because we recycle so much, but because it floated to our house a few years ago after some serious rain and nobody claimed it.

Anyway I'm not territorial about a trash can, but I would be annoyed if somebody filled mine up long before trash day.

I love them trash bins they use with the automated trash trucks. They gave me three - Black, green, and blue. Black for food rubbish stuff, blue for cardboard and plastic bottles which I can redeem for a nickel each so screw the blue getting any.... and of course green for tree trimmings. ok so far.

Green and blue get my copper scraps, when they fill they go to the scrapyard via a dolly lift and my van. Black gets household rubbish, cardboard, and tree trimmings.

And here all this time I thought you were more an environmentalist than that.

They were giving the recyclable bin for free for a while, and I used it, then they wanted to start charging for the privilege of sorting my garbage, and I went to one omnitrash can.

When someone dumps even a pizza box in your can it sucks, because there is no space available. So these jack wagons two weeks in a row have filled up our can.

They do it again I'll be dumping it on their car.
I pay $13 a month for a 96 gallon container

I don't know what you should really call me, but a common sense man would be closest. Household garbage cans, the black ones, are collected and emptied on Wednesdays and sent directly out to the garbage to energy plant out in Cambell Park where the rubbish is hit with a big plasma torch, and turned to gas that heats to steam and makes electricity (Process is probably slightly different, but since when do I put all the facts down precisely). The electricity is what the smarty pants electric cars use to charge their batteries. So I am an environmentalist.

Copper is one of the most devastating metals to mine . Recycling copper is worth way more to the planet than recycling cardboard or leaves and twigs from the lawnmower. Mech.......... Tune in , turn on man.......... Acid will open your mind man.

The dirty secret of recycling is that most of it ends up in the landfill anyway. There is no market for non-metallic recyclables now that China is no longer importing recycled paper and plastics.

Plastics marked with numbers 1-3 have some value since there is a recycling market for them, the rest are worthless as there is no market for them.

The price of 1-3 plastic dropped to $30 a ton after China stopped importing, hence why it mostly goes into the landfill now. There's no economic value in recovering that material anymore. Only the socialists who have no concept of economics or reality believe recycling is good for the environment. The case could be make that it's actually detrimental to the environment.

Used prophylactics are harmful to the environment. Never ever heard one of those soy boys with the man bun hairdo complain about people using prophylactics.
