We Will Never Forget September 11, 2001-neverforget.jpg

We will never forget...

I also want to remember how we came together as a country the following day. We weren't Democrats or Republicans, Liberals or Conservatives. We were simply human beings coming together, united as one. We were Americans.

This thread is not intended for political rhetoric. If you feel the need to make it controversial, take it to Controversial Talk. In this thread, we will remember those we lost.

If I live to be 1000 I can never forget or unsee what happened that day or the following day with my fire department.

Lived in NJ and worked in NYC daily then.

My best friend from high school lives just around the corner from the WTC. He was helping from day one, as a civilian, and went everyday to help until he just could not breath the fumes any longer. To my knowledge he has no health issues associated with helping but when he speaks of 9/11 you most certainly can feel the emotion of that day in his voice. God Bless America.

Condolences to the families for their lost loved ones.
I remember exactly where and what I was doing at the moment of this tragedy. The shock of what happened, shut down the entire job site, even before the magnitude of the entire attack was realized.

At the Airport, it was a parking lot of planes from all over the place. The planes in route obviously landing at other airports. Then it was quite, except for an occasional fighter jet blasting thru. Only time (and hopefully never again) no planes landing/taking off on a perfectly clear sunny day. Have to go back to maybe the 1920's or 1930's for a week day at Lambert for "0" arrivals/departures.

With water in that instance it's a combination of density and velocity. Falling onto a body of water from height is about the same as hitting concrete.

Aluminum doesn't have that kind of density to penetrate steel.

Show me a nail gun that will shoot an aluminum nail into a piece of sch 40 pipe and we can talk until then not so much.

I appreciate the gesture of thanks but not necessary at all just doing the right thing.

All the fire departments in my area had more guys volunteering to go to work the pile the following day, no questions asked. They sat staged in Hoboken until needed daily for days.

On the actual day injured people were ferried across the bay to NJ where they were put into local ambulances and transported to hospitals. My First Aid Squad was involved with that.

Plenty of residential boaters were bringing people to NJ.

Cricket, you might as well close this thread now. There are several people who suscribe to conspiracy theories, and they going to keep telling everyone else all about it, ad nauseum.

Myself, I'll just say a prayer of gratitude to all the first responders who died, and a prayer of sorrow for all the civilians who passed.

We should take pause and reflect on the lives lost and how EVERYONE banded together AS ONE

Now we have been divided. How can this be? We have forgotten.

We must never forget.

This thread is not intended for political rhetoric. If you feel the need to make it controversial, take it to Controversial Talk. In this thread, we will remember those we lost.

The controversial comments have been removed from this thread. We have a place for that and it is not in the public forums or this thread. Is that clear enough now?
