Default What Keeps You Coming Back To ElectricianTalk.com?

Can you tell me what keeps you coming back to ElectricianTalk.com Is it friendships you have developed here or that you like helping others with their challenges? Something else altogether?

Is it my sunny disposition?

What made you come back after you visited the first time?

Hax, Cow, Sabrina, Jraef, Brian John, Flyboy, Micromind, Dennis, etc. The knowledge base on here is great. It used to be more varied, but time changes everything.

Real world people. Having been working by myself for the past 20 years it is nice to be able to share my skill set with new and younger electricians.

As Cowboy said, if a little bit of my knowledge and past experience can help someone out, that makes my day.
I do like the ribbing and I openly laugh at some of the responses.
I enjoy coming here and just seeing what's new today.
By the way, do enjoy your sunny disposition.

For the same reason I watch NASCAR, I love a good wreck.

Seriously, I like discussing what I do for a living and hopefully passing on the little knowledge I have as well as learning from others.

Then there is Hax, and PeterD what is not to like about this duo.

I like to see what garbage spews forth from 360 and the canadians about Trump, Thats usually entertaining!

Once in awhile I pickup a tidbit of knowledge or can read up on something I'm not too familiar with.

All the other enetertainment venues already mentioned.

At this point (over 11 years in) it isn't about electrical as much as it's about the camaraderie with guys that know what you do and what you are talking about.

Not like there is a great supply house around my area (this ain't NJ-NYC) to have a coffee and BS with other guys in the trade.

....and I will admit I like stirring (not trolling) up a little heated discussion now and then!

Entertainment. Who is trolling who.

We have a couple of great Canadians that really ruffle the feathers of some of American guys. I think we win most of the time.

Me I like Trump so I'm all alone on the Canadian side.

This place seems to always be evolving.. ( into what we're not too sure )Years ago it was a lot of great guys with good knowledge and sense of humor, then it got crazy and some went away. Today there seems to be a good mix of Trolls and seriousness, which keeps it interesting.
Its not super serious like another electrical site we all know about. One can get an decent answer here. I have emailed some one here as well as messaged them to debate issues or just give advice.
I have met a few people here in person. We all set up meet and greets about 9 or 10 years ago, which was pretty cool.

Besides all that no other forum gave out Coffee Mugs !!

It was MDShunk, and his vast experience in things I've never heard of before, that hooked me on Nathans site.

Then some hot chick bought the place, so I hung around hoping for nudies.

I like it here for several reasons;

1) I learn stuff here.....a lot of stuff.

2) I enjoy sharing what little knowledge I have. I've spent 44 years in the construction trades and have made a lot of mistakes, if I can help someone not do the dumb things I have.........

3) I consider just about everyone here to be a friend (yes, this includes you, Cricket.....). I really like the camaraderie here.

4) Even though I'm a pretty mellow guy, I actually enjoy the occasional bantering here, provided it doesn't get too far out of hand.........

Pretty good site!

It's really nice that some very well experienced guys are willing to share a lifetime of trade experience. The very, very sad part is we have a few that consistently crap all over the forum.
I think it drives away new people. I would like us to be a bit more serious in the future. Maybe the mods could PM those that are regular offenders.
