Could a moderator please change the title of this post to something more respectful? I feel triggered.

They will still give you a speeding ticket in a school zone, though.

Where I'm from originally, if the temp dips below freezing, school gets delayed 2 hours to makes sure the buses can get warmed up. If there is even the threat of snow, they either cancel or release early.

Who cares, I look forward to icy roads to take off from work. They don't treat roads in Texas like they do up north.

I used to walk 4 blocks to school when I was a kid. That would be starting at 6 years old in 1955.
I never missed a day. -40 was fun as we could then take lunch and have a great time at school making noise and stuff. Warmer than that had to walk home for lunch. Grades 1 &2 were fun. Brain has locked out the other years till I was 14 or something and interested in girls. 1955 and for 10 or 20 years Global Warming hadn't kicked in. January and February averaged -30 or -40 C. Not so now days as I live in the same city and today is -16 C and although I freezing my a s s off we have had a wonderful winter. So yeah we are becoming kitty cats.

It's good they cancelled school. That way the boys can all shave off the peach fuzz since it's toxic masculinity.

Same thing here, they are afraid to get sued if a bus gets in a accident.

If they canceled school here if the roads were covered with snow they would be off for five months. You just have to learn to deal with is. They only "treat" major highways, if the temperature is not to cold.

Hills and inclines are the issue for them and I get it. If it was flat, it would be no issue. Its not flat. Our biggest issue is getting the notice. Before school. |

We had snow flurries in 1977. That's all I remember during that year and the next couple.

Yeah, that's it, what @drsparky said. Snow days, yeah right. I did hear that some school system banned homework, though.

They've been canceling it the day before anything even happens. We didn't end up getting any snow at all by the way (that's usually how it goes).

Those states are a bunch of Pussssies. Here they only cancel in episodes of Lava overrunning the whole damn town, or else some silly haircut jackass in North Korea shoots a nuke missile at us and misses.
