What have been your biggest challenges this week?

What are you doing to overcome them?

Sitting in a car for 12 hours with 3 kids, a baby, and a wife that is looking at me like she's gonna put my head under the tire and drive over it several times.

How did I get over it?

If you don't hear from me then you will know I didn't.

Not being able to get to sleep while working a 15 hour day on nightshift. The concerning thing is that I don't feel that tired even after a week of this... as if my sleep schedule is so screwed up that it's all gonna slam into me very soon and I'll be completely dysfunctional.

Currently not doing anything to deal with it, as you can tell I'm posting this instead of sleeping.

This will catch up with you friend. You need to get some rest. Its amazing how far we can push our minds and body.
Eventually something has to give. Take care of yourself before you take care of them.

The biggest one I've got so far this week came today and would be being on the wrong side of a 3' snow slide that came across the road after I went by.. By wrong side, I mean it's a dead end road.. Didn't get hit by the slide! Just waiting for the snow plows to come dig us a path to get out of here. Winds are about 70 km/h (40 mph) now, with some gusts that are better than that.

Yesterday I sat in two HR meetings, not for me but I had to be there. One for a disciplinary letter and the other was a letter of termination. Both for ladies working here and the tears were flowing.
You just stay strong for them and let them know this is just a bump in the road. Life does go on.

Tim.

Like glen, dealing with snow, haven't seen a blade of grass since before Thanksgiving. Season total is just over 12.5'. Running out of places to put it.

Installed a 400A ASCO transfer switch today and got a SW position unknown message when I fired it up. Bad control board.

Two days ago I forgot to pack my lunch. So I faced a big decision challenge.

Kalbi or fried mandoo? The joint next to where I was working was a Korean plate lunch. ..... I went mandoo

It's been cold, windy, and wet here so getting out of a nice warm bed has not been an appealing thought.

A strong wind coming in off the bay is the downside to where I live.

I haven't gotten more than 4 hours of sleep a night this week, am working a lot of hours, and have to work this weekend. I work most weekends. I'm tired, and getting burnt out, and there's no end in sight.

Plus, the old man was on vacation for 8 days in January, and is going for another 8 days the end of this month, which means I have to handle my work load, plus his, plus all the service calls. I haven't taken more than a long weekend in 4 years.

I know the eastern shore gets less snow than the mainland, but you must have had some this year, right Mech?

"You can hire someone to do everything except own the company" was a saying of one of my professors.

There was like 1/8" on the bayside of my house Wednesday!

We've had flurries several times and one morning I did have to broom off the front steps.

Trade coordination. I stayed off the job for two days because they were supposed to lay tile. When I went back, they had just started. Job scheduling has been difficult.

A ball of thumbgum with cable staples in it is a hell of a thing to run over with your van tires!

Mud.....with the rain we've had over the last few weeks (MUCH more than normal), there's mud everywhere.

Of course, everyone (including me) tracks it all over inside the buildings and when it's still wet, it's slippery.

I think contractors should be required to mitigate the mud on job sites.......
