Default Announcement - Photobucket images no longer working

Hello,

Photobucket.com has recently changed its terms of service for free users on their platform. As of June 20 images hosted by Photobucket and shared on our forum, or any other third party sites, will no longer appear. As a result, you may notice a higher amount of broken images on the forum.

If you do not have access to edit your older posts please contact an Administrator or Moderator for assistance. Please provide the new URL for the image that needs to be edited and a link to the thread the image in located in.

More information on the change and what it means for Photobucket users can be found below.

I found this really good picture hosting site a long while back. Electriciantalk.com is the name of it. It's called creating an album in your user profile. I have around 250 of em in there..............

funny...I just discovered that a few weeks back. It makes it easier than Imgur or Flickr. Now, if I run out of room on this site...there will still be broken links on some of the posts. Oh well...

We're just too proficient in the use of images, so embedding them would be a disaster.

I'd hate to go back now on the thousands I have posted so far from photobucket.

There are over 7000 in the Gems of the Trade thread alone.

There is also no limit to the number of attachments you can add directly to threads. That's our preferred solution to this

No kidding. Big impact on the site missing all these pics.

Yup, disappointing for photobucket to change terms of use after so long.

I only switched to imgur after they had the site locked out for weeks.

I fully agree.

Maybe they will get sued as they deserve.

Unfortunately, it's a big impact to the site. If you notice threads with missing PB images, let us know and we'll try to manually replace them. For people using Chrome, there's this plugin you can use. It'll allow you to see most of the missing PB images. No confirmation on how long it'll work for.

OK so now I understand, I was getting a pic and go to photobucket, did that and still can't view images. Went back and they want almost 400.00 a year. there's no picture worth that much to me. just wanted to see some of the vintage equipment pics still in use and working as I am also kinda vintage. I logged in and everything. Guess it's all about the money now. I guess I'll just stay old school, close your eyes and picture it.

Or, you can simply upload images for your threads and comments directly to the forum, since we don't limit it for you.

Sadly Photobucket have ruined many forums on the Net with this blatant greed. They are also stopping you using an adblocker if you want to browse their site..

Demanding $400 a year for what was a free service on the strength of blocking your pictures is nothing short of extortion.

Even if they ever reverse their decision, they can burn in hell before I will ever use them again. I just hope the company goes bust....
