Default Electrical Professionals Only

Why does the Verticalscope Turd Herders forum make it painfully obvious to the DIY crowd that they are not welcome, but here, we have half a dozen locked threads a day with orange apron crusaders looking for free advice on wiring a 3 way switch? The rules here are spelled out in a fine print post that exactly Nobody has read ever.

Maybe the powers that be figure turd herders wouldn't get it if it wasn't so obviously posted there to read!!

Bad enough being a turd herder let alone a DIY one!

Sounds so counterproductive!!

Does mocking another tradesperson make you feel better about yourself?

My father taught me at very young age to have respect for all trades people. Calling plumbers "turd hurders" is disrespectful. Especially coming from another tradesperson.

Did you know that more then any other profession in this country, that plumbers are on the front lines protecting our health and safety?

They take as much pride in what they do as you and I bro and they deserve some respect.

Relax there old man, don't take things on such a serious note.

Why so defensive?

I did a lot of plumbing and pipefitting as a young man, having learned from my mother's brother who was an excellent plumber/fitter with a very successful business.

And YES I'm well aware of the "Plumbers Guarding The Health Of Our Nation" philosophy.

Herding those turds downhill to the proper treatment is what it's all about.

Crap flows downhill, normally at 1/4" per foot.

Now go pop a v i a g r a or whatever compound it is with your coffee that keeps you moving!

We do the following.

1. There is a notice near the top of the community, for guests, about who can join.

Electrical Professionals Only-et-who.png

2. There is a sticky at the top of the introduction forum.
https://www.painttalk.com/f3/attenti...e-field-90210/

3. There is a thread in the getting started forum.
https://www.painttalk.com/f50/whos-a...alk-com-89649/

4. All of the above is discussed & linked to in the welcome email & welcome PM.

FWIW the graphic doesn't help on PlumbingZone (they have the same issues) and it isn't likely to work here either.

I don't care that it alerts me. I do care that it creates support tickets that alert the support team for no reason beyond chatting.

Since I have already responded to this thread, I am going to close it.
