Is there such a button? If so, I can't find it. I like it on other sites, takes you right to where you were last in the conversation. Really handy for long threads.

There is one annoying thing about that button. If you have visited this site and NOT went to that certain thread and clicked the button, then leave the site, then come back maybe a day or so later it doesn't work right. Instead of going to the first unread that you want, it goes way down the thread to what it thinks is the first unread. It may be a page past where you left off.
This doesn't happen on other sites, just this one.

I concur.

If you use the Quick Links / Mark All Forums Read feature that timestamps all threads. The next time you go to access a thread using the new feature, it's going to find all posts after that timestamp, whether you read the posts prior to that time or not.

Doesn't really bother me though. If I want to read back, it's not a problem to look backwards therefrom.

It works based on cookies. If your browser deletes cookies when you close the window or if you accessed the site from more than one device, you can see the results you mentioned.

I agree with Mike. I tend to read them backward. LOL

My browser doesn't delete cookies when I close a window.
I only visit this site from my laptop at home.
Still jumps way down the list if I have visited, not open the thread, left site, (not logging out) then return later to that thread.

I can look into it, but my guess is that it doesn't recognize which exact post you left off on with return visits to the thread.

Even worse:

If I click Tapatalk on phone to look at another forum, it marks all threads on ET as read, even though I didn't click on ET when Tapatalk came up

Isn't it easier to just use your browser than the Taptalk app?

Being a 3rd party app, Tapatalk isn't something I have control over.
