I don't have the answer but I believe 20 is the (a) magic number.
You have 8.
Go to the joke thread and tell us some jokes or reply to jokes there.
It's just a computer. Do what it takes to make it happy.

Hello Coppersmith.,

First of all the edit mode it is time limited for general members so I think about 10 maybe 15 min before the edit mode go out .,

Second the PM message will not be enabled until you get 20 posting on the fourm this reason why to prevent abuse from spammers which we get it from time to time.

But you will get the PM only from Adm or Moderators at the moment but for other PM no ., not until you hit 20 posting.

Oh yuh when you have free time please fill your profile too that way we can help you more better especially if you are in usa or cananda due the code and answer will varies a bit depending on the topic and question.

I am new to posting on forums and I am beginning to see the benefit.
I have been an electrical contractor for over 35 years and now an electrical inspector. I like what others have to say so that I could get a clearer picture of what might be acceptable. I believe the code is not open to interpretation, only different understandings. Unfortunately my understanding is sometimes different than my colleagues.
Thank you.

Thank you.
Unfortunately there are many code sections that can be interpreted differently. Some areas, such as NC, have made an effort to take the common issues that are argued and make a formal interpretation. This means even if an inspector sees it a certain way he can be overridden by the states interpretation.

Good luck and always give an article number for any violations you find

I don't understand the difference between "understanding" and "interpretation". In both cases, it's what the reader thinks it means as they read it.
