Any tricks to dealing with large conduit and no bender? Just lengths and elbows.
I need a little kick so I can drop a 90 lower than another pipe that starts at the same height.

Use part of an elbow?
Force the 1.5 " onto a 1.25 " bender?

Thanks in advance..

It's pretty sad but my boss does rent benders.. I told him I need spring nuts and bolts to avoid offsets and he looked at me like I was crazy...

It's taking longer to work like this than spending 50$ on a rental.

I don't understand why some employers pull this crap, it's really aggregating when they won't get you the right material and tools. And they ALWAYS ask why it's taking you so long to complete the job.

I was shown and have successfully used a tree with a fork in it to bend 2" rigid. It worked.

I would think it would work on 1.5", might not be pretty.

Your boss sounds like a cheapskate , lol ! They also make pre manufactured bends as well as 90's . 15's 22's 30's 45's , since he's obviously too cheap to buy or rent you a bender ? You'll eat up a bunch of couplings going with the pre fabbed bends though a d I'm sure he won't like that , lol ! Bending over a truck tire does work in a pinch , but not for a whole job !

Well now this is how you bend conduit without a bender 2 inch and smaller down to 1/2" . Get you two old Chevy metal tire rims best junk yard in town . You need the rims that are smooth inside not the crap like today . Mount the rims on a flat stock sheet metal plate weld or bolt your choice .They must be touching each other edge to edge of the rims weld together . Two options slide the 2 inch inside and bend a kick is simple . Now heres option two rigid bends no kinks but if you bend EMT more than 45 deg trick is to pack it with white sand and i mean pack it wet . Use a ram to pack it inside fill it up to the top and you can bend a 90 deg elbow perfect . But today we use benders its just better and you dont look like a complete idiot at work . To add just for laughs ive bent 4 inch rigid with a grove in the ground made by a truck tire in the mud after it was dryed in the sun and hard not just any dirt will work lay the pipe length wise inside tire grove and pushed it down with the back side round part of a rubber tire hoe bucket . Trust me it works great each push you do real slow dont rush and it will look just like that 10,000 dollar bender .
This is only if your in a real jam and dont have any money and sleep in your truck at the job site .

Do that a few times and you paid for the tools you really need.
