Default 3 Days Off?

Just wondering if anyone did anything fun for the weekend? I just got off a week of double shifts to finish a job. My wife and I had planned on going away but, decided last minute Friday to just hang out at home, childless. Did some shopping and relaxed a bit. Hope the rest of you guys had a more productive holiday.

Yeah.... just hung out.
"Relaxed"? Is that what they are calling it these days.

Actually my kids stayed over my in-laws last night since we went to a dinner party and didn't get home 'till late.
It was a very "relaxing" night.

Saturday...helped middle daughter to move some furniture, took Xmas trees to local tip [dump]. Made a tool to remove and replace hinge pins on my van. Atempted to tidy out garage

Sunday...cave diving, then took dogs for a walk in the fields and helped wife to repair the fence around her horses' muck-heap.

....an 'Electric Free weekend' and NO callouts!!!

I got a call at 2 AM Saturday and didn't back home until 10 am...slept a couple hours and had to go to a Chinese New Years party at 5 PM(Late celebration due trying to get everybody together). Sunday did some work in the woods cutting some trees for next year. Today...did Absolutely Nothing.

When you work for yourself, you can work flexible hours.

Being self-employed has it's benefits.

I take vacation whenever I want, the profit-sharing program is great, and I get to sleep with the boss's wife!

Are there alot of cave systems in the UK? Being in Fl we are riddle with them. I usually dive them when the ocean is a mess. I'd rather spearfish.

Sat home and watched the Daytona 500. First time not being at the track in 5 years. Kinda missed the track but not the traffic home.

Not many caves around here [north west]. Due to having a 'powerfully developed lower chest' I can only fit in the larger ones. I don't do 'squeezes'. There is a nice one about 1 hour drive away. Entrance is at 25m and goes in 130m, old mine / quarry workings. Crystal clear on the way in, so clear that it is only the bubbles that remind you of the water. On the way out....blackout quite a few have not made it though .
Egypt in 7 weeks though, counting the days

Yeah, it's a form of relaxation, spent most of Saturday in bed. It has been a while since we had someone to take the kids that we trust enough to relax (my inlaws are in the UK and Africa). The rest of the weekend we went out for meals and shopped a bit.

My wife and I spent an overnighter at a casino. She had a coupon for a free room. We had a nice meal in the dining room. She gambled while I relaxed at the bar. Like always. Went back to the room after the band played and celebrated her winning a couple hundred with a bottle of wine. We drove in a nasty blizzard to get there, and rode back on a nice pretty sunny day.

Sat. - worked
Sun. - worked
Mon. - worked
etc., etc

In the middle of a shutdown finishing up a three month project, ready for this one to be done! It's been a good job, (upgrading a sawmill) but I'm ready for some days off! Been going between 60 and 70 hours a week just on this one job, which means another 10 to 20 each week for invoicing, estimating and scheduling of my other jobs. Not bad for the middle of the winter up here.

I'll celebrate the holidays I missed all at once next month when I go on vacation. Yay!

BTW, I agree with 480sparky - sleeping with the bosses wife is one of the best things about being self-employed.

Both my brothers are Army Reserve at this point so they talked him into the Army Reserves. With the $20,000 signing bonus and the college stuff, I guess I can't blame him. He's at AIT now at Aberdeen Proving Grounds Maryland. An officer is talking him to him now about a possible promotion to E-4 (currently E-1) because of his electrical education and experience. His MOS is generator repair.

That's where both my brothers and my son were. I'm starting to get to know my way around. Always Forward.

I wish him luck with his choices. When ever I hear SC, first thing I think of is Parris Island. I wasn't aware the Army had basic training in SC at all.
