I've been wearing contacts for a long time now. I put a pair in every morning around 4am. I throw them away bed or bed. Costs about 200 a year. I hate it
, I've been thinking about Lasik but don't know anyone who has had it done.

I was pissed off and indignant because I had excellent vision my whole life and one more thing I liked was gone to this creeping decrepitude.

So I got over it and now I keep the readers all over the place so there's a pair nearby if I need them. I have safety glasses with the reader built in. I have the lighted readers, which are excellent. Terminating fiber with readers feels like cheating, I should have been using these years ago even with perfect vision.

I have tried some of the loupes etc. as well, there are all different gadgets that work very well.

One of the best things since sliced bread. I have a pair in my reader strength and a stronger pair for close up stuff. Have a sunglass pair as well.

What sucks is when you get to the point of the "in between"
To close for the normal glasses and to far away for the readers!

I have magnifying glasses every where, and most have lights in them.

Oh I've had lasik surgery , but not to correct bad vision but rather to stich up torn retina's . The eye doctor tells me how lucky I am that I got to him on time that day, and the next two times when the healing didn't take so well. Other option is eye surgery with a real scalpel and that while awake. No thanks.

Anyway it was still pretty grueling, but it didn't hurt a bit. My eyesight is kinda messed up now by little dots of dried blood called floaters. The lasik doesn't fix those, they either go away by themselves or you are stuck with them. Don't get old.
