Default Brainless Monday...

I accidentally put the wrong end of the blade in my Hackzall during demo (it actually worked) and didn't realize it until I tried changing blades. Then it took ten minutes to get it out. I quit at 3:00. Some days it just ain't happening...

You should've spotted it right off when the EMT started jumping right back together!

At least you didn't try to use the wrong side of the blade.

On two occasions, I remember an apprentice and a homeowner just struggling to drill holes.

I suggested that they check to see if the drill was set to reverse.

That said, as an apprentice, I once pulled a 1" KO punch thru (ratchet style)with the cutter backwards. The whole time I'm thinking, "This things is DULL!"

once i fed a plumb bob into a wall space to pull a fish tape
the entire house had straight drops from attic to basement (internal walls)
and wouldn't you know i chose the only space with a cross tie half way down the wall!
couldn't see it because of dim flashlight

didn't occur to me until i had fed 30 feet of line into an 8 foot space
couldn't feel the bob stop through gloves
homer simpson moment there

Default Clueless tuesday

Today at a job. We were working on a problem with a 3 way to 4 way to 3 way.

The lead electrician was trying to figure out why at some point the 1st switch was hit, the lights wouldn't come on from any of the other switches.

The circuit had been moved on the 1st switch to another switch on the 3 gang.

After ripping everything apart, he realized he hadn't changed the single pole on the 1st location to a 3 way. Once we did, it was fine.

So you are saying that you can put a hacksaw blade in backwards and notice that bits of metal drop on the backstroke and that is an easy thing to do?

He's talking about a Hackzall, not hacksaw.
Milwaukee's small one handed saws-all/reciprocating saw.
