Default Can be both a three or single phase motor

First time in forty years have I seen this, I know you can simulate the 3rd phase for 3 phase with a cap but have never seen it in real life.

I just got a motor in that has a nameplate rating of 480 volt 3 phase or 240 volt three phase or 240 volt single phase. It has three different hookups shown on the motor and it includes the cap in the peckerhead.

Hookup is
480 wye 3 phase L1- T1 L2- T2 L3 - T3
240 delta 3 phase L1- T1 L2 - T2 L3 - T3
240 delta single phase L1- T1 L2- T2 Cap from T1 to T3.

Just thought Id share

Is it called a "Written pole" motor? I've seen those. It's not anywhere near normal, but they sell them for people stuck in far flung places where the PoCo is reluctant to run three phase. The problem is that if you use it and it breaks, there is only one place to get a replacement and that knows how to repair them.
Is it weird how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how weird it is?
