No. 3-5 years from date of mfg. Depending on the brand. Osram Sylvania is from installation if you register them together with OSI lamps.

Standard ballasts aren't supposed to run hotter than 160F and misapplication can cause overheating like air handling troffer used in non-air handling application or the area is just really hot.

GE and Advance are from date of manufacturing.

In the days of increasing permeation of LEDs, know your fluorescent system to stay on top of things.

You could select a specific ballast brand when you order them so you can coordinate them to the lamps.
