Default Fiber Optics Training Course Accreditation

I am looking at attending a few different fiber optics training courses. One website says that it is sanctioned by a fiber optic association, another is sanctioned by electronics association. Can you guys help me make heads or tails of this?

I don't know which one makes you more marketable, but I've had two... both from the manufacturer of the particular splicing products. I'd guess they're just as useful as any industry association accreditation.
One reason not to give DIY advice:
Catch a man a fish and you can sell it to him.
Teach a man to fish and you’ve ruined a good business opportunity.

I was certified by the FOA, the class I had to obtain that was really informative. unfortunately, I had that class years ago, and the industry standard has changed quite a bit since then so I would have some catching up to do.

Why bother with a course, the manual in the splicer box tells you most of what you need to do and the rest is common sense, learning to use the OTDR and related equipment for trouble shooting will be usefull though. Splicing fibre on a production level all day every day aint my cup of tea.

I took a class from Corning. It was a good class. Used fusion splicers and OTDR's plus the figure 8 polishing and Unicam connections. I can't do fiber without my cheater glasses now.
