I am just looking for opinions. I even state I will return. Some still come down on me, treat me like I am a hack.

I return as I stated, post pics showing what was what. Same members who came down on me wont touch this thread with a ten foot pole. Why?

It does not fit their agenda. They are those who may be hacks and look to those like me to make them feel better about their own hackwork.

It's a shame. I notice these same people do not post about their own work, they just look to criticize others about theirs so as to feel better about their own in adequatenesses.
I think that they jumped when you stated you had only back fed. A few posts letter you mentioned a return to the job was on the book.. But by then the snow was falling... Don't let it bother you to much.

As for the hidden JB, in your last picture I see holes in the ceiling with the outline of an old fluorescent light. Maybe it's above the ceiling there?
I use my tracer all the time and have found that sometimes hooking it to a 9volt battery works good. (An older tracer that wasnt self powered) Disconnect the hot and use a long screwdriver in the ground or hooked to an water pipe a distance away from the panel. This way you can get a tone thru the grounded hot.. If you can't, unhook the neutral and try that direction.. Just make sure the neutral isn't a MWBC...

I would have rather used a neutral and the hot for tracing, but when you got 5 hots and 3 neutrals in a conduit, what is it? a 1to 4 chance that my hot has it's own neutral?

Anyway, I will work it from here.

Since I feel that you are directing this at me...I'll respond....although prior to this latest hissy-fit of yours, I was going to remain silent and just let this thread die....

You are so backasswards it's unbelievable.

You were literally and actually shamed into going back there....on your own time....in your non-company van.....with your refurbished non-company cell phone.

I told you before...I am brutally honest.

There is really nothing left to say to you in this thread.

It was not totally directed to you, but since you seem to have responded in a manner I would have not thought would be you, then I will respond.

I do not like leaving a job without knowing what could be fixed. I made this thread looking for opinions on this, not opinions on what type of person I am.
At one time I saw constructive criticism in you, now I see it is just criticism.

To get back to my post, I was looking for opinions, people to tell me what I could, should be looking for to solve this, otherwise I would not have made the thread. Some helped, but others like you took it upon themselves to call me a hack, rather than give constructive advice.

I never, ever like to leave a job not knowing what and where the issue may be. That is why I went back. Not for safety issues, but because of my ego.

I am true in what i say. I post for opinions and possible answers.

You can help me, by constructive advice or even criticism or you can be like that member on my ignore list who likes to troll. Your choice.

I am here for advice. I may troll for banter, but that is when the thread becomes such.

Since you didn't name anyone I'll assume some of that was directed at me. The only thing I can add at this point is that I've posted pictures of my work many times. I've also posted a link to my Facebook page numerous times. Now more importantly, WTF is that last word in your rant?

So did you go back the second time for free? What state are you in? Does it have a licensing system?

I will try again to explain.

When I post stuff that I do on this forum, unless I am bragging about what I posted, or like my van thread, or venting about my,,,,,, helper.

When I post work related stuff, you know, things we all do for a living?

I look for opinions, advice, constructive stuff. Some of you see it and jump right in as if your d!ck is small and wallow in my demise. I don't care. Shows me what type of person you are.

I post topics to get answers, not insults. If you want to insult, that is fine, I can deal, I have an ignore option.

I take pride in what I do for a living. Sometimes things do not work like I want them but they work.

One of my best qualities is troubleshooting. On residential I can pretty much find the issue within 10 minutes of being on site. This is because I know how these houses are wired.

Commercial work is not my specialty. I will leave it at that.

Damn I like that ignore option. I figured the guy who talks out of his ass would chime in.

I wasn't asking for a sob story. I was just wondering if you got paid for going back there the second time. I also was curious if your states licensing requirements because you call that guy you work with your "helper" and are always saying how incompetent he is yet he's running a van and doing unsupervised work

Apparently you don't read posts on this forum. Now I see why your replies seem ignorant.

Shelby county TN does not require for me to hold a journeyman's license, nor does it require any apprentices to hold a license. All that is required is for a master license to pull the permits.
I have a journeyman's license although I am not required to, but I need it to get my master's
The guy that works with me has been doing this as long as I have and gets paid the same as me. He does not know 1/4 of the code I do, therefore I call him a helper.

The boss thinks that since he pays this guy a journeyman pay, this guy runs his own van.

Is this now making sense to you?
