I was on my way to Bendover Electrical Supply to pick up a 200 amp panel and drove past a Blowes. I decided to drop in, expecting nothing, and found one on clearance for $200 off.
It’s Homeline crap but I will sacrifice my self worth for one time only.

3/4 of resi materials are priced better at orange or blue. Bendover Electric Supply must be a larger chain then Sonepar. We all seem to have one near us:vs_laugh:
Pretty much every single item I buy at my supply house is cheaper than Menards or HD, the only reason to go to a retail place is if is a time saving thing or a supply house inventory issue.
I actually do the opposite, if I find that the box stores has something less expensive, then I go to my supplier and they will price adjust.
I do not check prices every single time, but about once per month or so. If I notice an increase from the supplier I will check the big box and compare. They will not match the on-line places however such as amazon, e-bay, etc.
On line @ Blowes...I usually get 1 single phase 240 volt /200 amp
40-54 space main that comes with 5 single pole 20's and 1 single
pole 30 for $125.00.
Last time , they also had 15 and 20 amp AFCI breakers on sale for
$34.00 each.
I then get 10% off military discount with 6 months same as cash.
On another note...just curious...i know copper buses (Siemens example)
are superior product to aluminum buses on breaker panels...but ...if you
are using aluminum (say 4/0 as service entrance conductors) ...what's
the point of spending more $$ on copper buses?
Only justified, IMHO, if the location is near salt water.
Chlorine just does a number on aluminum you can't believe.
