Because we are ALL hypocrites.

In my experience most hypocrites are people who haven't experienced both sides of a situation. Once it gets real most will toe a line on a subject. Its unfortunate that those same people don't put 2 and 2 together and realize that dirt cheap is usually in nobodies best interest regardless of the scenario.

Disclosure: Our local Walmart uses us for a lot of their service work and small (less than one day) jobs. Maybe they haven't figured out we're a union shop yet or something

A year or two ago they did a great big remodel on the store and changed a lot of overhead drops to underground. But prior to that, I seem to remember installing a few drops for cash register locations. We used the proper power/data riser tower things though (I forgot the make & model. WireMold maybe?), not just a hanging piece of EMT

I've done a fair amount of work for wally world. During new store openings they have strict installation procedures. They send out project managers to oversee the actual g.c. on the sites.
This install was done during a revamp. They periodicly change around displays and what not. I personally wouldn't loose sleep over it. Give it a few years and it will be removed and relocated.
