I just got another AC repair call #2 I have a tech that I am using. This is just a diagnostic to see whats wrong with a package unit. He wants all the money I have in there for the trip charge ! What would be a fair amount, or should I just make money on the repair ?

i had the chance to use it already. prolly should have charged more for after hours, but i told them $49 fee to see why a 150a main kept tripping with the ac on. GE mb was hot and old......needed new box. i quoted $1500 (i forgot to add my after hour fee, but oh well). job was for a landlord (cheap arse) and visited the tenant's house (angry at landlord). tenant said landlord was cheapest ever. i informed them that all landlords are cheap, not just theirs.

ultimately, the landlord found a guy to do it for $850. this panel has as branch circuits: (1) 2p100a, (2) 2p 50a, (1) 2p30a, (1) 2p40a (4) 1p15a, (4)1p20a and a 150a main. ground wire is undersized and will have to be updated. i told her good luck and thanks for my $49.

just as i got back to the house from that one, another customer called and wanted a recept changed. his dryer had a range recept in its place, so i told him the price for reg. hours and after hours. went over and fixed it for "after hour" pay.

so far, so good.
